Common Ground, Kauai is driven by a simple idea – if we can build a green enterprise brand that is also a working business and build it upon the principles of quadruple top and bottom line practices – by which we mean serving the best interests of the community, local economy, environment and culture – then we will have built, and will be able to grow, a sustainable business environment.

At the same time we know we are not the only ones endeavoring to do this. What interests and motivates, excites and moves us creates the same impulses, in the same way, for may other individuals, business leaders, entrepreneurs and companies. And so we fundamentally believe that if we share what influences us others will join us in a place of discussion and debate, education and growing consciousness.

This is why we have created this portal on our website that we call Message Media. If communication is made up of ‘message’ and ‘media’ then the only link to a wider distribution of the content that is pertinent and relevant to any of us is the concept of ‘messenger.’ That’s you.

So feel free to link to what we are thinking and finding, what we like and find important in relation to the local and global context of what we are doing here at Common Ground, Kauai. The more you have to say the more people everywhere will hear. And isn’t that the central idea and issue? If people who care then have a place to congregate and share, isn’t that the definition of a community of shared values?
